As power electronics challenges increasingly shift from device innovation to system integration and deployment,
Avnet Silica will demonstrate how advanced power technologies can move from concept into real-world power systems.
Brussels, Belgium, June 2026 – Avnet Silica, an Avnet company (NASDAQ: AVT), today announced details of its participation in PCIM Expo & Conference 2026, taking place between 9-11 June 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany.
At booth 7-622, Avnet Silica will focus on practical power design innovation, giving visitors the opportunity to explore how wide bandgap and silicon technologies are being applied across charging, motor control, server power, DC-DC conversion, and broader industrial power architectures. The stand will host live demonstrations from leading technology partners, including Diodes Incorporated, onsemi, Navitas Semiconductor, Nexperia, Renesas Electronics, and STMicroelectronics.
With Avnet Silica technical specialists available throughout the event, attendees will be able to move beyond individual component selection to understand how to turn advanced power technologies into scalable, production-ready systems. The demonstrations will focus on the point where efficiency, power density, thermal behaviour, control, and real-world application requirements come together, helping engineers reduce implementation risk and apply silicon, Silicon Carbide (SiC), and Gallium Nitride (GaN) technologies with confidence across increasingly electrified markets.
Key demonstrations will include:
Wide Bandgap Technologies
- Navitas 3.2 kW NavitaTitanium Data Centre PSU: Designed for AI and server environments, this platform combines GaNSafe ICs, IntelliWeave digital control and Gen-3 Fast SiC MOSFETs to reach peak efficiency levels of 99.3% while offering twice the power density and six times higher operating frequencies of traditional silicon-based units.
- onsemi 25 kW Bidirectional Industrial DC Bus PFC Front End: Optimised for industrial DC bus and 800V systems, this high-power bidirectional platform integrates 1200 V SiC MOSFET modules and FPGA-based control boards to deliver high-performance efficiency, thermal management and over-voltage protection.
- Renesas 3.6 kW Bidirectional Evaluation Kit: Supporting high-efficiency energy conversion in on-board chargers as well as industrial and renewable energy systems, this evaluation kit uses a bridgeless PFC architecture and innovative 650V SuperGaN technology to reduce component count and system footprint.
- STMicroelectronics 11 kW Bidirectional Charger Reference Design: Featuring the ACEPACK DMT-32 power module, this bidirectional charger platform enables a high level of system integration. By combining SiC MOSFET technology with an advanced power module approach, it achieves >96% efficiency while simplifying design, improving thermal performance, and reducing overall system complexity. System is controlled by 2 STM32G4 MCUs.
Silicon-Based Power Solutions
- Diodes Incorporated AP21550 USB-C Power Delivery Evaluation Board: Addressing efficient power negotiation and protected energy transfer in compact electronics, this highly integrated evaluation board is fully compliant with USB power deliver 3.1 and is optimised for space-constrained electronics like smartphones, laptops, and power banks.
- Nexperia Enhanced Current Sharing with ASFET Technology and BLDC Motor Control: Demonstrates improved dynamic current sharing in parallel MOSFETs under switching conditions, reducing current imbalance and associated thermal stress compared to conventional devices, alongside a BLDC motor control demo showcasing high current capability in low-voltage inverter designs using CCPAK MOSFETs.
- onsemi ASPM26 intelligent power module for motor control: A compact 1200V all-in-one inverter solution designed to deliver high power density, efficiency, and proven reliability for auxiliary motor applications in next-generation 800V electric vehicles.
